Waldorf education was established by Rudolf Steiner and aims to educate the whole child: head, heart, and hands. Waldorf is known for its developmentally-based, vibrant curriculum and meaningful, hands-on lessons. Its emphasis on arts, music, gardening, outdoor experiences, handwork, and other life skills complement the rich instruction of core academics throughout the grades.

At Cedar Springs Learning Center we proudly provide a Waldorf-inspired education to our families.

While Cedar Springs provides a robust Waldorf-inspired educational experience, families who choose to homeschool retain the legal responsibility for ensuring that their child receives a complete education. Our program is designed to provide the foundation and richness of a Waldorf-inspired education, and many families are able to receive the bulk of their child’s educational experience through Cedar Springs. Depending on their child’s individual needs, families supplement their child’s learning through additional enrichment at home.

We encourage families to remain in close communication with their classroom teachers throughout the year. Our teachers can provide valuable insight into a child’s learning, including their strengths, areas for growth, and overall educational development, helping families make informed decisions about any additional learning experiences their child may need.

Families must establish a legal enrollment pathway for their child’s education by the time their child turns six by September 1. While Cedar Springs Learning Center provides a robust Waldorf-inspired educational experience on campus, families have two primary pathways for establishing their child’s legal educational enrollment:

1. File a Private School Affidavit (PSA)
A PSA allows your family to operate as an independent private homeschool, offering greater autonomy with minimal oversight or reporting. Families choosing this pathway are responsible for the full cost of their child’s education and do not receive state funding.

2. Enroll with a Homeschool Charter School
A homeschool charter provides public funding, support, and oversight. Families typically communicate with their charter and submit samples of their child’s work to demonstrate progress; these can include photographs of work completed at Cedar Springs.

Charter programs typically provide approximately $3,000 in state funding per student per year for approved educational expenses. Cedar Springs is an enrichment vendor with two homeschool charter schools, allowing eligible families to use their charter funding toward the enrichment portion of our program, including arts, handwork, music, gardening, and other specialty classes.

Both pathways allow Cedar Springs to be a central part of your child’s educational experience. The best choice depends on the level of autonomy, support, and oversight that works best for your family.

Cedar Springs Learning Center is proud to announce that we are now an approved vendor with both Clarksville Charter School and Cottonwood Charter School.

Yes, we provide optional afternoon programming until 4:30pm each day.

Our program runs Tuesday-Friday.

Kindergarten: 8:30am-1:30pm

1st Grade: 8:30am-1:30pm

2nd grade: 8:30am-2:30pm

3rd-8th grades: 8:30-3pm

Morning Glory Family Cooperative

Cedar Springs Learning Center enrollment begins in Kindergarten at 4 years 9 months. For families seeking a Waldorf-inspired early childhood experience before Kindergarten, we highly recommend exploring Morning Glory Family Cooperative, a preschool-aged parent cooperative rooted in Waldorf methods that shares our campus.

Tuition Adjustment Program

Cedar Springs Learning Center is committed to making a Waldorf-inspired education accessible to families. We offer a generous, need-based Tuition Adjustment program designed to help make enrollment possible for families who qualify.

Tuition Adjustment is calculated primarily based on the applicant family's net income, with additional consideration given to the number of dependents and the family's overall circumstances. For the 2026–2027 academic year, families may qualify for a Tuition Adjustment if their annual net income falls below the applicable threshold and they have less than $10,000 in net assets:

• One enrolled student: Net income less than $95,000

• Two enrolled students: Net income less than $110,000

• Three enrolled students: Net income less than $125,000

The maximum Tuition Adjustment is $7,250 toward tuition. The Enrollment Fee and Service Participation Deposit are not eligible for adjustment.

We deeply value freedom, including the freedom for families to make their own healthcare decisions. Cedar Springs does not collect or maintain medical records, and we do not have medical requirements for enrollment.

At Cedar Springs Learning Center we ask that all families commit to completing 50 Volunteer Hours per year.

Families are asked to commit to making two service hour deposits, one per semester, of $500/deposit ($1,000 annually).  Logged service hours are tallied in December and May and credited back to your account at a rate of $20 per logged hour, up to the full $1,000.
