Why Choose Cedar Springs?

A Welcome from The College of Teachers

Dear Families,

Every child thrives when they are known, valued, and given the space to grow into who they are becoming. At Cedar Springs, families choose our Waldorf-inspired education because they believe children need more than academic knowledge alone. They seek a place where minds are engaged through meaningful experiences, where curiosity is nurtured, and where hearts are cared for with intention and compassion.

Nestled among the foothills, our acres of land become an extension of the learning environment, where children care for goats and chickens, gather fruit from the trees, tend the greenhouse, and develop a deep relationship with the living world around them. These experiences become doorways into rich academic exploration: a garden becomes a place to study biology, a story becomes an invitation to understand history, a question about the natural world becomes the beginning of scientific inquiry, and a mathematical pattern discovered through movement becomes a concept understood with clarity.

In kindergarten, children spend their days immersed in imaginative play, stories, songs, outdoor exploration, and purposeful work that builds confidence, connection, and wonder. Throughout the grades, students are encouraged to think deeply, ask thoughtful questions, create original work, and approach challenges with the imagination and perseverance needed to become capable, independent thinkers. The kitchen, workshops, and outdoor amphitheater provide spaces where children build, perform, collaborate, and bring their ideas into the world, strengthening the connection between what they learn and how they live.

Our four-day rhythm creates spaciousness within the week for deep engagement during our shared days while honoring the importance of family time, exploration, and the many experiences that shape a child’s life beyond them. As a Waldorf-inspired learning center serving homeschooling families, Cedar Springs offers a close-knit community where families can be part of something meaningful while choosing an educational home grounded in relationship, creativity, and deep academic engagement.

Here, children grow into students who not only know more about the world, but who know how to observe it carefully, question it thoughtfully, and contribute to it with confidence and purpose.

And perhaps most importantly, they grow up in a place where childhood is protected, learning is alive, and community is real. If you are looking for a place where your child will be truly seen,  challenged, and deeply supported, we invite you to come experience Cedar Springs for yourself.
